The bathroom is finally done!
It was mixed emotions getting rid of the ducks but I have finally come to terms that my "baby" will be turning 4 today!
Enjoy the tour, a few more tweaks like shelving and a new throw rug but I couldn't keep you in suspense any longer.
You can read about my lantern project here
I repainted over the buttery cabinets that I had previously painted. The pulls I had already purchased at Anthropologie a few years ago.
I couldn't resist when I saw the #3. It's a great place to store their toothbrushes.
Find out how we transformed our mirrors here
You can read about my sign transformation here
Here is the cost breakdown
Paint $20 (Lowes)
Mirror $24 (Home Depot)
Curtain $4 (Marshalls)
Paddle $12 (Marshalls)
Lanterns $0 (homemade)
Sign $4 (homemade)
Towels $20 (Ross and Marshalls)
Toothbrush Holder $3 (Marshalls)

And now
It's never boring around here that's for sure
I hope I have shown you that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have the feel of a whole new room. A little bit of paint, some creativity and elbow grease can do amazing things!

Love the new Look. I especially love the candle holders, but I am not brave enough to put them out since we had a fire from a candle (you can read about it on my blog). I soo... wnat to put some bead board up in my bathroom, but right now we have too many other projects going on!
I love the beachy look of the room and the painted cabinets. I'm sure a tear or two was shed over the loss of the ducks, but the room looks wonderful. Happy birthday to your little one!
It looks great! I am loving the lanterns and the #3 bucket!
The bathroom looks wonderful. I would have had a hard time painting over the duckies too. I am sure you felt like you were erasing part of your babies childhood. You are acknowledging that he is growing up. Ugh. That is so hard. My baby just turned 4 too at the end of April. Just yesterday I heard him tell a kid at the park, "I'm not little, cause I'm 4 now." Too funny. I hope he has a wonderful day!
Hi Kristin!
What a beautiful transformation! I love everything about it. The colors are so soothing, it's a perfect place to retreat to after a long day.
Happy Birthday to your baby! He will ALWAYS be your baby! :-)
Anne
Great job! HA! I have those same tins in my home office to store craft supplies #'s 1-5! I just thought they were way too cute to pass up.
It looks fabulous Kristin! I love the colors and all of your little touches, very beachy. The paw prints are priceless, hope you're leaving them as is. :)

you definitely accomplished the beachy bathroom look...and it's not overdone. You have wonderful attention to detail and I love the redo on the cabinets.
Loving that little basket/box on the counter and the bucket with the number three. I love anything with verbage or numbers too. : )
Thanks for sharing and inspiring us.
I am off to find out the color you used on the walls.
It looks AMAZING! GREAT job!
Darling, you're my hero!!! I can't believe the total change in a small budget!! How that is possible???? You're new bathroom is great, I imagine how happy and proud you must be! Very classy, and it couldn't be different since it's YOUR bathroom.
Have a nice evening, friend! xx

I want to share a tip, but this might
not be the place to do it? I'll do it
anyway.. Please don't store toothbrushes
in the open.. think of the toilet flushing,
the spray/mist, go's a long way!

Cheers,
Stacey
What a lovely bathroom -- you definitely accomplished your goal of a beachy bath. I can almost hear the tide :)
Cute, cute bathroom! Your boys sure have a beautiful and talented mom. I'm loving the Valspar Gravity. I have a question....did you paint the inside of your cabinet? Twice?? I have a wood vanity, kind of like yours, but the idea of painting the interior, keeps me from tackling this project. I'll keep your little secret either way. ;~)
Hi Lori-
I couldn't gain access to your blog or email...sorry, hope you read this :) I did paint the interior doors and trim. Once you get going it's not too bad :) Good luck to you, I know you will be so happy you did it once your done!
Great job! Very beachy! I love it! :)
Thanks Kristin....I'm always checking your blog. OK...you've given me the courage to paint my vanity, that is.....after I finish stripping the wallpaper. Keep your great ideas coming. It's such a treat for me every morning to check in with you. ~Lori~
I love this bathroom! I'm looking for the perfect shade of blue/grey for my boys room- can you share your paint color? Thanks, I'm so glad I found your blog. We'd like to redo our bathroom similar to this with the beadboard in our new house.
Elisabeth
Love your bathroom redo. what a great job? What is your paint colors? the blue is so great.
love it! What's the name of the color you used on the walls? I love it.....
Thanks,
Teri
Hi Teri-
Thanks for stopping by, hope you get this! I used Valspur Gravity. Hope your having a great weekend!
Kristin
Your bathroom made me fall in love with blue and I am not a blue person. It is one of the prettiest transformations that I have seen.
That looks just beautiful! Did you use the same paint color on the walls and cabinets or are they different?
Wow! This is absolutely fabulous! I love that it was so cheap, too! Beautiful! I saw this originally on Remodelaholic. Feel free to stop by and link this project up on this week's Bargain Brag Wednesday: http://www.bargainshoppingparadise.com/2010/05/bargain-brag-wednesday-52661.html
Beautiful! Would you mind sharing the wall color? Is the cabinet the same color? Love the candle holders!
I love this bathroom and am going right now to buy that paint color for our bathroom in our new house! Thanks for sharing your wonderful bathroom with us!
OMG!! This is THE Bath!!! :-) wanderful done!!
I love the beachy feel of the bathroom. Perfect.
XO,
Valerie
wow this is amazing, I love it!
I'm new to your blog and am absolutely loving it. I am about to redo my bathroom and love the color you chose. Can you tell me what color you used?
The jars are just adorable here.
OH, MY GOODNESS! I LOVE it! Your bathroom is absolutely beautiful. I love your style. I am going to be adding you to my blogroll and will be coming back to check out more of your blog later. :)
Beth.
I think the rug has to go...try a jute rug instead. I'd break away the blue cabinetry from the blue rug and go well with the "beach" theme you are after!
Beautiful! I love everything about it. It looks so clean and fresh.Do you mind sharing the color of the cabinet? It is fabulous.
Annette
Ok, can I tell you how excited I am I stumbled by your blog! I am painting out kitchen cabinets tomorrow and am so nervous! Reading through your kitchen re-do post makes me a lot less nervous and most just excited! Plus I love your idea to paint the bathroom cabinets a color! I have been very conflicted, can't do white because the countertop is a light beige marble and black seems to dark in a smaller bathroom. Thanks! Your blog is GREAT!
Love your bathroom renovation! The blue you picked for the vanity is soft and cozy. I really, really like the lanterns. We don't have a lot of space in our downstairs bathroom (pedastal sink) so I've often wished we had room for candles when I take a bath. Hanging the lanterns on hooks is brilliant! I am headed to the tutorial now. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a huge transformation - I absolutely love what you've done! I'm so into beadboard... can't wait to put it in my bathroom.
:)
ButterYum
Kristin,
That looks so fabulously restful! (Until the doggie prints.) Yikes. I hope you were able to clean them up.
Hopefully some day we can gut our bathroom and make it beachy beautiful like yours! Until then I have to be happy with my little frugal makeover.

This is AMAZING!!! How did you get the gold trim off of the mirror?
Beautiful. I think I have to add some bead board in my daughters bathroom. It might just be the zap it needs.
