As frustrating as it has been trying to pick the perfect paint color for the stenciled wall I have learned so much in this journey.
In the past, painting has not been such a big deal, it's just a room. This time, the color chosen will be painted throughout the main parts of the house so if I don't like, it won't be an easy fix.
I have learned that I have to stick with warm colors in the main parts of the house like the picture below because our house is so open.
Decor Pad
I've learned that neutrals don't have to be blah
I've learned I wanted something more grown up and more sophisticated in a paint
I've learned greige is a perfect combination of grey and beige which screams out elegance and is perfect for our situation
I've learned not to settle, don't give up and be patient
When all my sample colors failed me, I took Julie's advice from It's the Little Things and bought a sample of Bleeker Beige by Benjamin Moore. The minute it went up I knew it was the one.

I painted the wall that night and woke up in the morning loving it! All my stress floated away, it was a great feeling. I got out my stencil and went to work on Sunday morning. The results are beautiful and I'm so happy. Can you see me smiling :)
(In case you missed it we are working on the stairs)
Taking a look back:
Original paint color Inside Passage (nice but I was bored of it)
Amazing gray (too cool for the house)
Lots of samples
Bleeker Beige (ahhhhh....makes me happy)
I'll be giving a stencil tutorial tomorrow, I rolled it on!
Thank you so much for every one's advice, suggestions and encouragement during the process!
A big thanks to Julie for giving me the winning color!
XOXO

Well done Kristin, you have made a beautiful job of that wall, and your photos are really good. SO know what you mean about the relief of having found the right colour - I once got it totally wrong and woke the next morning with a lead weight around my neck! Look forward to the stencil tutorial

Your wall looks really good! Great job and I love the stenciling and your paint color!
Kristen wow that looks fab!!!!! :)
The stenciling adds such nice interest to the wall & the beige~ greige is a perfect color! How funny, I was just looking at the BM paint samples at the hardware store yesterday... I'll be back to get me some.. they are great for little projects & a great price! BM paint is so expensive, yikes. But I like it. I am looking forward to seeing your stairs!! I want to rip out my carpet on my stairs.. we have a similar staircase as you guys.
Warm Hugs, Lara
I read your blog all the time but never have commented. I just had to this time. lol
Beautiful! I have always wanted to do this but my walls have a light orange peel texture and I didn’t think I would like the finished product. I love the look on your textured walls. I will be cutting out my stencil today and will be doing this tomorrow.
Woot! Girl I love it! I did a post today on muted colors in my home and someone commented on bleeker beige! I may have to give it a try. I was thinking Tony Taupe by sherwin williams... Yes please do give us a tutorial!

Glad you could Mi4M!
Hi Kristin
Your wall looks so very elegant - subtle, yet adds just a bit of contrast. Almost makes you want to go up and touch the wall. I am sure your wrist was a bit sore after pouncing a stencil brush over the wall so many times.
It is beautiful.
My best- Diane
